2017 wheelchairs NOBOROT: a vehicle for movement on the stairs

Researchers from the University of Tokyo, Kamata lab working on a new robot that can become a prototype of a new vehicle for the elderly and people with disabilities, according to Gizmag. A device called NOBOROT differs that can climb stairs, moving the wheels on the steps. NOBOROT prototype was shown at JIMTOF 2012 in Japan. Worked on a prototype specialists JTEKT, which specializes in manufacturing of auto parts Toyota. The developers promise that the technology will be used in new electric wheelchair, but this will not happen before 2017.
